There is no ticket portal and no chatbot. Write to us and a person reads it. Telling us your device model, your Android version and the app version from Settings → About usually saves a round trip.

Questions
Frequently asked
Does Herdline need an internet connection?
No. Every record and every calculation happens on the device. The
only screen that uses the network is Settings → Privacy policy,
which opens this website's policy page. If you never open it,
Herdline never touches the network.
Is there an account, a subscription or a paid tier?
No to all three. Herdline is free, has no in-app purchases, no
advertising and no sign-up. There is nothing to log into.
Where is my herd data stored, and who can see it?
On your phone, in encrypted local storage, inside the app's own
private folder. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. We
have no server that could hold it and no way to read it.
How do I move my records to a new phone?
On the old phone: Settings → Back up via share sheet, and send the
JSON file to yourself. On the new phone: install Herdline, open
Settings → Import / restore, and paste the file's contents or restore
from a saved backup. Because there is no cloud, this step is yours to
do — so back up before you change phones, not after.
How does Herdline work out the expected calving date?
From the service you logged, plus 283 days of gestation. It also
derives the pregnancy-check date (45 days after service), the
suggested dry-off (60 days before the expected calving) and the next
expected heat (21 days after the last one observed). These are
standard planning figures, not a prediction for an individual animal.
Does Herdline tell me how to treat a sick cow?
No, and it never will. Herdline is a record book. It suggests no
treatment, no dosage, no protocol and no withdrawal period, and makes
no diagnosis. When you record a treatment, the withdrawal date you
enter is the one your own veterinarian gave you. Always follow your
veterinarian and your local milk-safety rules.
Why does the app ask for the INTERNET permission?
For exactly one screen: loading this site's privacy policy inside
Settings. Google Play requires a privacy policy to be reachable both
in the listing and from within the app, and we host one copy rather
than bundling a second that could drift out of date. No other part of
the app uses the network.
Can I remove the sample herd?
Yes. The sample herd only appears if you chose "Explore with a sample
herd" during onboarding. Settings → Clear all records removes it,
along with anything else stored. Choosing "Start empty" means nothing
is ever seeded.
How do I report a problem or ask for a feature?
Email hello@mrkhan.store. For a
bug, tell us what you did, what happened and what you expected, plus
your device model, Android version and the version number from
Settings → About & help.
