Herdline

The milk register says what each cow gave. The wall calendar says when she was served. Herdline keeps both in one place, so they finally agree — and works out the two numbers that decide whether a dairy makes money: cost per litre and calving interval.

Who it is for

Owner-operators running five to sixty cows

Usually one or two sheds, often rural, often with patchy data. A missed heat costs a full twenty-one-day cycle and real money. A forgotten milk withdrawal after treatment risks a rejected consignment. Both are bookkeeping problems, and both are solved by a record book that computes rather than one that just stores.

Features

What Herdline does

Animal register

Tag, name, breed, sex, date of birth, dam and sire, shed and status — heifer, milking, dry, pregnant, sold or culled.

Twice-daily milk recording

Morning, midday and evening. The whole parlour in one pass, with a running total as you enter it.

Reproduction cycle

Heat, service, pregnancy check, calving and dry-off. From a service Herdline derives the check date, the expected calving 283 days on, and the dry-off date.

Today / Upcoming board

Every dated obligation in one list — heat checks, pregnancy checks, calvings, dry-off, vaccinations and withdrawal windows. In-app only: Herdline sends no push notifications.

Lactation records

Lactation number, days in milk, 305-day and total yield, peak yield and the day it fell on, plus a per-cow lactation curve.

Feed & milk ledger

Feed purchases and milk sales become a running margin and a cost-per-litre figure. A record book only — Herdline moves no money and connects to no bank.

Health & withdrawal log

Vaccinations, deworming and treatments, each with the milk withdrawal date your vet set. Herdline records; it gives no veterinary advice, dosage or protocol.

Insights & charts

Herd yield over 7, 30 or 90 days, top and bottom producers, feed cost against milk value, and the cost-per-litre trend — all computed on the device.

Search, filter and tags

Full-text search across cows, treatments, ledger entries and reproduction events. Filter by status, breed or shed; pin the cows you watch.

Streaks, goals and milestones

A recording streak that means something, targets for daily yield, cost per litre and calving interval, and milestones that unlock from real husbandry.

Export, import and backup

Full JSON backups you can restore from, CSV for every entity, and the share sheet to send a backup wherever you keep it.

Archive, undo and theming

Sold and culled cows archive with their history intact, every change offers undo, and theme, accent and density are yours to set.

Permissions & privacy

One permission, and here is why

INTERNET

Requested for exactly one purpose: opening this site's privacy policy inside the app's Settings screen. No other network use, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDK.

Nothing else

No camera, no location, no contacts, no storage permission, no notifications. Herd records are stored encrypted on the device and are never transmitted.

Data safety: Herdline collects no data. Exports and backups are written to the app's own folder and go only where you choose to send them. Read the full privacy policy →

Important

Herdline is a record book, not veterinary advice

The application suggests no treatment, no dosage and no withdrawal period, and makes no diagnosis. Withdrawal dates are the ones your own veterinarian gave you, entered by you. Always follow your veterinarian and your local milk-safety rules.
